Sex work and drug use

Sex work and drug use is an exploratory study on the relationship between sex work and drug use in Portugal and Porto. It was carried out between 2010 and 2011 under the transnational project “Dangerous Liaisons – the connection between prostitution and drug abuse”.

The aim of the study was to diagnose the national situation contributing to the systematisation of knowledge, reflection and debate on the topics as well as to identify clues for further design and testing strategies in this specific field of the relationship between the two phenomena. It has two distinct components: the production of knowledge and its ‘state of the art'; and the empirical study of the intervention and the manifestation of the phenomena in the national context.
